Ovis aries (domestic sheep) - tibia + fibula* L

ZM-220-AR, part of the Harvard Zooarchaeology collection, is identified as Ovis aries, or domestic sheep, based on examination. The tibia was scanned using an Artec Space Spider by AMK. In this specimen, the fibula has fused with the tibia, losing its distinct shaft in the process. A small prominence below the lateral condyle of the tibia remains from the proximal end of the fibula. The distal end, specifically the lateral malleolus, is detached in this example.
