Oviraptorid Claw
sketchfab
This hand claw originates from an oviraptorid dinosaur that lived during the Late Cretaceous period, approximately 70 million years ago in what is now modern-day Mongolia. The claw belongs to the first digit, equivalent to our thumb, but unlike ours, it was not opposable. It would have been encased in keratin, a protein similar to human fingernails, thereby increasing its sharpness.
