I designed an overhead spool holder that can accommodate both regular and 5 kg spools of filament, which we often receive in bulk quantities or have our engineering department extrude specifically for us. Drawing inspiration from several designs on Thingiverse, I created a solution that fits within the 170 mm span between the edges of 2020 t-slot framing found on many printers. I am willing to make adjustments if you need it to fit your specific printer's design, as long as it doesn't deviate significantly from my original concept. This spool holder can be attached using screws or zip ties to the t-slot framework. To ensure optimal use of space, I recommend mirroring the spool holder on the opposite side, allowing for a total of 190 mm between the brackets. Additionally, the bearings should be designed to slide along the rod, enabling easy adjustments for various spool sizes. This design is compatible with the Lulzbot store's enclosure specifically designed for the Taz 6 3D printer.
