Spinning Spool Holder for 3D Printers - A Custom Design The spinning spool holder can be mounted upside down or placed on a table, secured with screws for fixed positioning. To switch between modes, simply insert the roller into the top slot, converting it to a standing spool holder. This versatile design also allows for wall mounting at a 90-degree angle. I created this custom spool holder for my cabinet's 3D printer, where the filament spool is secured on the upper section of the cabinet using a hanging spool holder. You can choose your preferred infill pattern; I used a 10% grid in mine, but you're free to select your own design. Print time will be approximately 6-7 hours with all parts printed at a nozzle diameter of 0.8 mm and a layer height of 100 mms. The outer diameter of the spool cam is 52.00 mm, accommodating most filament spools ranging from 1kg to 3kg in weight. I typically use 3kg spools. The large transparent beige disc serves as a reference point for a 30cm diameter spool, equivalent to a 3kg spool size. Smaller 1kg spools will fit comfortably within the design's parameters.
