Overflow Grill for Aquarium 1mm spacing Skimmer
thingiverse
This is a custom-designed overflow sieve intended for use in my 36-gallon freshwater aquarium. Its primary function is to skim the surface of any oils and films while keeping small fry away from the canister filter intake and catch basin. The design seamlessly fits over a 3mm plexi separator that is already installed in my tank. For personalized modifications, please refer to the instructions located at the bottom. Size: - The spacing between the grills measures exactly 1mm apart, matching the same specifications used in my hang-on-tank hatchery for fish fry. - The overall dimensions of this piece are 95mm wide by 80mm tall. Due to its intricate design featuring numerous fillets and chamfers, high-resolution printing settings may be required to achieve a smooth finish. Print Settings: - This part should be printed as a solid object with a 15% zigzag support density using a triangle mesh interface. - Initially, I used a 0.2mm layer height for printing the first piece, which turned out well; however, for optimal results, I recommend utilizing smaller layer heights and a smaller nozzle. You can adjust the clip-on thickness by modifying the <Clip on thickness> extrusion distance, which is set to 3mm by default.
