Over-the-Top of the Shower Hook
thingiverse
Bathing is a process that's truly satisfying when done with the right towel. Think about it, whether it's a bath, a shower, or that futuristic method used on the International Space Station (https://airandspace.si.edu/stories/editorial/how-shower-space - which can't be called a traditional shower), towels bring everything full circle. Without those towels, we'd have soggy, cranky people walking around everywhere. I had to install some towel hooks in my shower without drilling into the faux marble walls. I started with sergep's "Customizable U-Hook" (https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1367661). His customizer tool is super useful for wall hooks and over-the-door hooks, but it didn't quite fit my needs. So, I took the hook portion of one of his sample designs and customized the top to attach to the wall above the shower. My shower walls are 1 inch (25mm) thick, with a 4-inch (100mm) wide trim piece around the edges. I designed this hook to hang from the bottom of that trim piece. To secure it, I used a weather-resistant screw on the wall and exterior-grade, waterproof double-sided tape from 3M on top of the shower trim. It's surprisingly sturdy. This design works for me, maybe it'll work for you too.
