Over-shoulder Dust Shoe Holder
thingiverse
This is simply my take on a Dust Shoe/Debris Extraction system for an OX CNC. The title loosely refers to the unique over-the-shoulder extraction hosing method used. However, like most adjunct equipment of this nature, it doesn't really have a name. With my CNC build at an unintended hiatus due to the Coronavirus, I thought that I'd complete my designs for a debris extraction system. I'd already done some preliminary work on it but (at the time) didn't have enough of a completed structure to get more precise measurements from. The design is of the slide & strut variety which is difficult to execute on an OX due to severe dimensional limitations. It contains most if not all of the features that you'd expect on a Dust Shoe plus a few not found elsewhere. It is more suited towards ShopVac sized extraction systems due to its compact size. Presently, its not possible to gauge how well this works as I don't (yet) have an operational CNC machine to test it on. Regarding the photographs... As my CNC machine is still in the build phase, I don't yet have a spoilboard constructed and I have also temporarily dismounted the Z-axis stepper motor for test purposes. So, if anyone wonders about the odd configuration, these are the reasons why.
