Over-engineered Tofu Press
thingiverse
This is a tool designed to extract excess solution from a tofu block with precision. The engineering behind its design may seem overly complex, but it's actually quite straightforward. When you turn the knob, it rotates a small 16-tooth pinion, which in turn drives two large 84-tooth gears. These gears then power a smaller 30-tooth gear, generating enough force to easily crush tofu into bits. According to my calculations, this press should be able to deliver around 400 kg of compression pressure, but the material will inevitably fail before reaching that mark. To assemble the gear train, I recommend doing so in one piece to avoid any potential issues during construction. You'll need twelve M3*20 screws to hold it all together – shorter bolts will also work just fine. Additionally, you'll require four copies of the screw files and two copies of the 84-gear file to complete the assembly.
