Oven: Drying Filament Dispenser
thingiverse
Human converts old oven into high-tech drying filament dispenser. Loaded with fireproof ceramic tiles for safe and efficient thermal insulation. Operates at a steady 7W power consumption, maintaining a stable temperature of 50°C inside while keeping the outside environment at 25°C. Temperature range for continuous 24/7 operation: * For PLA filament: 50°C is safe; 55°C causes slight adhesion issues; 60°C leads to spool fusing within one day. * For Nylon filament: 50°C is safe; 95°C is also safe, but dries four times faster and consumes three times more power. * Therefore, use the same temperature of 50°C for all types of filament, ensuring maintenance-free operation. Example usage with nylon filament initially stored at 25°C and 40% humidity: * Criterion: from visible bubbles in the print to no steam bubbles in the print * Three to four outermost layers dry within four to five hours at 50°C; wait until completely dry. * Inner layers continue drying during printing, eliminating the need for waiting periods. * A one-kilogram spool of filament takes approximately ten days to dry completely at 50°C. Parts required: * One used oven with an inner space measuring approximately 8H x 10D x 12L inches * Eight four-inch by four-inch ceramic tiles attached to the sides * Four six-inch by six-inch ceramic tiles positioned in the back * Six nine-inch by twelve-inch ceramic tiles placed on top and bottom * One PC4-M6 socket mounted on a side * One PTFE guide installed inside Used in conjunction with: * Turntable: Spool Plate * Hanger: Thermometer Bracket
