Outlet Cover Box
cults3d
This safety box guards your little ones fingers even when the lid is off. It makes it difficult to touch the metal plug if the cord gets yanked. The removable lid fits snugly and matches the diameter of a power strip cord, keeping it firmly in place on the wall. To take out the lid, simply squeeze the sides of the box. Disclaimer: This does not replace good sense or responsible parenting. Before installing this box, switch off the power at the breaker. Don't come after me yelling when you jam the screwdriver into the outlet. Remove the faceplate screw. Put the box right over the screw hole and use the screw to attach it to the faceplate. I'm sure if it gets hit hard enough, the box will probably break since it's only held on by one screw. I don't have the square faceplate that covers a GFCI wall outlet with two screws, but I could make one that fits this plate in the future. If lots of people ask for it, I might make one printed directly onto a faceplate. If you need the box to be deeper or the lid to have a different size hole, let me know.
