Outlet Box Extender

This outlet box extender fits household outlets that are too cramped for larger switches or receptacles. A smart switch was purchased, but the outlet box was found to be overcrowded with wires, making it impossible to fit the larger bodied switch. To resolve this issue, an extender was designed and printed to hold the switch outside the box. The extender matches the face plate that came with the Gosund Smart Light Switch, which is not a standard US size. This design extends the switch 1.25 inches from the wall. Two #6-32 screws, each 2 inches long, were used to attach the switch and extender to the wall box. This solution would also be effective for GFI's.
