Outdoor weather station
thingiverse
This is a straightforward outdoor weather station for a wireless ESP8266 controller. It's built around a solar panel on top that charges a 18650 lithium battery. Since I don't have the solar panel yet, it runs solely on the battery. The build features these parts and sensors: * ESP8266 - Wemos D1 Mini * BMP180 pressure sensor * DHT22 humidity sensor * BH1750 illuminance sensor (GY-30 breakout) The ESP controller is programmed with MicroPython and sends data to a MQTT broker. I'm using Home Assistant running on a Raspberry Pi for data display. As soon as I clean up the code, I'll post it here along with further instructions. Updates: 2020-04-26: I wrote an introduction about integrating this weather station into Home Assistant at https://www.dream-dimensions.de/2020/04/building-a-wireless-home-sensor-network.
