Outdoor Screen Spacers

Outdoor Screen Spacers

I wanted to build a screen using the same material I had for my deck. The commercial options that were available didn't really suit what I wanted, plus cost $$! So I designed these using Sketchup (files included). The rails on the posts are C channel aluminium (25mm x 25mm x 1.6mm), the spacers are a fairly tight fit (I needed to do some sanding on a few but I did have an elephant foot issue on my printer that I've now resolved). Designed for 19mm boards and gives a 5mm gap between each. The spacers have a wall at the back allowing it to lock into the end of the board. Seemed to be fairly solid with only 25% infill, but that's up to you. I printed 30 at a time and with a brim so that they came out on a sheet and I could cut/tear them out. Was a little time consuming to remove, there might be a better way but didn't know how well they would stick individually! (Oh and yes I realise that I need to paint the top of the post!)
