Outdoor Blind Angle Hanger Bracket Cover
thingiverse
The metal angle brackets attached to the stucco siding of the house which serve to support hanging outdoor blinds were functional but aesthetically detract from the patio space when viewed at a distance. The solution was to design and print some clean white angle bracket covers to hide the unsightly angle brackets. The brackets needed to grip the angle bracket securely but also be removeable when they eventually will deteriorate with sun exposure or to replace the roll-up blinds. Printing: Each half of the full bracket needs to be placed on the slicer's print bed in the position shown so as to minimize the amount of support needed near the snap joints. No glue is needed to hold the two assembled halves onto the angle bracket as the horizontal section of the angle fits snugly into the thin mounting slots to provide all the friction necessary to hold the halves in place. Plus, the snap joint does provide some additional clasping action. When printed with PLA the material is flexible enough to just be adaptable enough to slip together with considerable hand pressure. The snap joint tolerance is sufficient to withstand at least one time assembly and perhaps multiple times if required. The half containing the female side of the snap joint should be fully inserted on the angle, first, followed by the male sided half at a slight angle to allow for final alignment.
