Outboard Motor Steering Stabiliser
thingiverse
I designed this outboard motor steering stabiliser assembly to ensure that the steering returns to center when my hand isn't on it for a moment. Print settings aren't crucial here, I chose 3 perimeters and top/bottom layers with 30% infill. I initially made it in PLA, which performed well, but may switch to aluminium or PETG later. The assembly clamps over your outboard motor handle below the throttle, then uses bungy elastic cords and clips to attach it to the rear corners of the boat. Not only does this setup return the motor to a central direction, it also helps new users navigate the boat, who might otherwise find the default setup too responsive. This design fits my Evinrude 20hp (of unknown year), but may not work on your motor - designing one for your specific motor isn't difficult.
