This is my first attempt at designing an outboard motor. It utilizes 3mm screws for assembly, along with 5mm shafts and 5x7x10 bronze bushings. This design is intended for a 540 / 36mm size motor featuring 25mm mounting. I created this project primarily to test the feasibility of using printed gears in radio control high-rpm applications. Although it runs and shows promise, the 3D printed miter gears fail to withstand a high rpm and high heat environment. The gears suffer from melting and I'm currently searching for metal or plastic gears that won't be too costly. This model requires some sanding and grinding as it's not yet a polished design.
