Out of filament ALARM
thingiverse
This is a straightforward way to know when you're running out of filament. I'm using a momentary switch, specifically a Cherry model, and I've included the dimensions for anyone with a similar switch in mind. The goal is to pair an Arduino Attiny85 with a buzzer, making it sound an alarm as soon as the filament reaches its critical level. Check out this video of the filament alarm in action: https://youtu.be/QGUehV8nUc4 If you're interested in getting your hands on the Arduino code for the Attiny85, just let me know. I'll make it available here or post it to my blog. I also have the schematics and layout ready for anyone who wants to create a PCB using the Attiny85 microprocessor.
