Excavations at Trench 1 at Wheldrake expose a segment of round-house ring-ditch and two linear features coming into view. A thorough examination of the Iron Age landscape within the Vale of York is currently being conducted as part of the Ouse and Derwent Project, a community-driven endeavor spanning three years in duration. This project receives funding through a grant generously provided by the Heritage Lottery Fund.
