Our Dream House in Hong Kong.. a place that every hongkonger spend a lifetime to reach

Hong Kong is a city packed with housing units and residential buildings that are unique from other cities around the world. What sets Hong Kong apart is that its most notable building isn't actually a landmark. For most Hong Kong residents, a simple place to live in is all they strive for throughout their lives. Every Hongkonger wants to own a housing unit, and people work tirelessly to buy one that costs 15 times the annual household income. This explains why Hong Kong ranks first globally as the city with the most unaffordable housing according to a survey of 360 cities conducted by US-based consultancy Demographia. Hard living conditions have led Hong Kong residents to focus solely on the stock market in order to earn extra income. These hard lives also make it difficult for people to breathe, lose creativity and space to conduct research and explore new ideas. Furthermore, they become impatient, lack foresight and prioritize time above all else. This 3D model of residential buildings is designed to illustrate just how cramped Hong Kong is. It serves as a reminder to you and your government that it's essential not to let your living environment become like Hong Kong's. This is a warning and a lesson for the entire world. I hope this series resonates with you and sparks your emotions. This is the most meaningful contribution I can make to the landmark of Hong Kong. Thank you for taking the time to read this. The customizable version was updated on August 14, 2015. It allows users to easily switch between different types of blocks such as Y-type, H-type or even hexagon. The level of the block can also be controlled, making it more like a satire and a complaint about society. For reference, in Hong Kong there are 221 blocks of trident block type Y, 852 blocks of harmony block type and other types such as Slab, I, Ziggurat, Concord, New Cruciform, etc. Each block can accommodate over 800 families. I used OpenSCAD to create this customizable model for the first time. I learned by watching YouTube tutorials and referring to the cheat sheet provided in OpenSCAD. While it's still not entirely clear and lacks good learning resources online, the result is quite useful and convenient, bringing 3D modeling techniques to a new level. Everything can be generated once established, making it highly recommended for designers to try it out.
