At one end of a large, possibly ancient sacred area on the SSW side, two matching upright stones stand guard at the entrance. The eastern stone is 1.8 meters tall, and its base measures 0.4m by 0.4m, with a northwest-southeast axis. A century ago, Brash noted that this stone had some faint vowel marks etched into it, but they were worn smooth. Later on, Macalister took another look at the inscription in 1907 and read it as Lugudeca Maqi Sittali Mucoi M.... But he eventually admitted defeat, saying it was too faded to decipher. Hartnett also examined the stone but couldn't find any ogham markings. Now, there's no clear evidence that this stone ever had an inscription. Two other possible ogham stones are found nearby, one marked CO060-187---- and the other CO060-188----, as noted by Power et al. in 1997. A detailed 3D model of the area was created using photogrammetry from 33 images and processed with Agisoft PhotoScan software.
