Summary Meet Marvin-2D, a Martian-inspired twist on R2-D2. Equipped with an R2-D2 body and legs, a custom-designed head dome, one hand, and a built-in defense mechanism (weapon), Marvin-2D is ready for action. His left shoulder features a sophisticated scope/acquisition device and an interstellar antenna, giving him unparalleled surveillance capabilities. Instructions Marvin-2D is constructed entirely from scratch using "kit-bashing" techniques. Forget about joints or movable parts – this kit requires careful gluing to bring its various components together seamlessly. Simply plan your design, glue the pieces in place, add some paint, and get ready to enjoy your new Martian companion. Additional Features To take Marvin-2D to the next level, you'll need to add four LEDs to his head dome. Don't worry – we've got you covered with a set of files that will guide you through this process. You'll need a few additional components, including a switch, battery pack (three AA batteries work perfectly), and four 5mm LEDs. To program your LEDs, pick up Dr. Leah Buechley's pre-programmed LilyTiny module from SparkFun – available here: https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10899.
