I've always wanted to attach my phone to my Cannondale F9 since I first bought it, but couldn't find a way without a bulky attachment or having to buy a completely different case with its own proprietary mounts. The existing solutions didn't hold together well, so I designed one that fits my needs perfectly. Since I use the TrackMyRide+ App extensively, this makes it easier to see calls and handle my phone without removing it from my pockets while riding. Alternatively, you could even watch a movie on the go! The version shown is my first attempt, which has worked great and held my phone securely for over 60 miles of riding. I've uploaded V2, which reduces material usage while still providing a solid hold. Quick Instructions: 1) Print the adapter using 2mm walls with an 80% infill. To facilitate screw attachment for those who use less infill (20%), I added a small pilot hole in the center to force Cura to create a 4mm area of material around the center. 2) Carefully remove the original plastic gator clip from the Otterbox Belt clip, exposing the circular attachment point. Use a small pair of needle nose pliers for this step. 3) Align the adapter on your belt clip, ensuring a flush fit, and use a small drill bit to create a pilot hole about 4-5mm deep with your drill. 4) Find a way to countersink the hole so that your screw can sit flush behind the phone. Use a countersink or large drill bit tip for this step. 5) Install your screw and test fit it on your bike. 6) If everything fits well, back out the screw just enough to remove the adapter and apply generous amounts of ABS juice or adhesive to both mating surfaces. Align both pieces and press them together as you install the screw again by hand. At this point, using woodworking clamps, you can clamp down on the adapter and belt clip plate. Apply a light coat of ABS juice along the seam of the adapter plate and belt clip to strengthen it. 7) Allow the adhesive 24 hours to dry and harden completely. Once dry, run your zip ties through the two holes and mount it on your bike, making sure to pull them tight. For added stability, consider running the zip ties in opposite directions to prevent the base from tilting to one side.
