Ottawa Steam Locomotive CN 6200 & Tender; 20mm
sketchfab
Steam locomotive CN 6200 and its tender are positioned outside the Canada National Museum of Science and Technology in Ottawa, rapidly scanned from ground level using a Faro Focus laser scanner to capture detailed images. The scalar LiDAR data is now available for modeling, revealing how the black metallic paint absorbs most of the light used in the measurements, resulting in less data returned. Deep blacks are notorious for absorbing electromagnetic radiation, making it challenging to obtain accurate readings. For more information on this Confederation locomotive, visit https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Confederation_locomotive. This 4-8-4 Northern type locomotive was built by the Montreal Locomotive Works in June 1942 and assigned to Class U2g. Its boiler number is 69698, and it falls under class U-2-g. The museum received this locomotive as a gift in June 1967, as documented at http://www.rrpicturearchives.net/showPicture.aspx?id=2281666.
