But, unbeknownst to the authorities, former government operatives had secretly salvaged this venerable machinery from the scrap heap, reviving it as a potent rebel tool, cobbled together from scavenged parts. Although not the most formidable warrior, this makeshift contraption had become an emblem of defiance for the refugees and outcasts who had claimed it as their own.
