OSX10 / SCX10 Receiver / ESC Mount
thingiverse
This mount is designed to make it easy to install electronics on SCX10 style vehicles. Its hole pattern allows for multiple cable tie options. For a waterproof receiver, I use a balloon and some short servo extensions (check out Axial's balloon waterproofing method). The mount attaches using standard M3 screws; threading the holes is optional but can be done if desired. Project OSX10 (Open Source Crawler) aims to show that building your own RC crawler from scratch can be just as good as buying a pre-assembled one. If you're into RC crawling, you know there are countless aftermarket parts available. Most of these upgrades work well even on off-the-shelf vehicles. So, why buy a stock truck and upgrade it later when you can build your own crawler from the ground up? I built my OSX10 using upgraded 1/10 crawler parts found at local hobby shops and eBay, along with several custom prints: * Bumpers & Mounts by Goodsons Hobbies (Thingiverse ID: 3187821 and 3008197) * Rear High Clearance Crossmember by Harley Designs (Thingiverse ID: 2286216) * Transmission Mount by Domi1971 (Thingiverse ID: 3040630) * Battery Mounts by LeftFieldEngineering (Thingiverse ID: 3192089) * Shock Hoops by LeftFieldEngineering (Thingiverse ID: 3355482) Check out #opensourcecrawler on Instagram for the latest updates and builds.
