Ossum PiP Bot

Ossum PiP Bot

myminifactory

This bot prints without supports and has 7 points of articulation. Designed as a fun challenge with less than 10m of filament, it will be a great test of a well-configured printer. Show off your best prints in the comments! The main challenges are: Adhesion (I'd recommend a brim that is easy to remove afterwards) Temperature control (you don't want his head to overheat) Blobbing/Stringing (not a big issue, but it can gum up the joints) None of the overhangs exceed 45 degrees, so they are not a big challenge, and most of the cosmetic ones are less than that, making it a very achievable print. Once the print is complete, the neck will need to be gently cracked to loosen the head. The hands can be twisted to free them, and the legs can be rotated, with a tiny built-in support which will break on the first turn. The shoulder joints have no internal support and should turn freely immediately. All of the gaps between non-fused parts are at least 0.6mm, slightly more in crucial areas with close overhangs. A strong filament like green rigid ink nylon is ideal if it needs to be play-proof.
