This intricately detailed, dimensionally accurate model of the Osirus Rex asteroid exploration satellite includes both a large section of an asteroid terrain and a small model of the Bennu asteroid. The satellite's objectives are to capture extensive images of Bennu's surface material and collect a sample using its TAGSAM arm, which inverts over the asteroid and blows nitrogen gas through a sampling head before sucking up rocky material. This regolith sample is then deposited in the Sampler Unit on the satellite's instrument deck and will be cast off for return to Earth. The solar panel wings of the Osirus Rex can be repositioned for continuous solar power, while UV mapping and accurate labeling of cameras, scientific instruments, and attitude jets enhance its realism. Two versions of the model are available in *.obj format - one with a plain steel body and another with gold foil wrapping. FBX files come with an extensive selection of PBR texture sets, while Maya and Max versions can be provided upon request. The shape of the Bennu asteroid model is directly derived from JPL radar data.
