Osiris is the Egyptian deity in charge of guiding souls through the afterlife, ruling over the underworld, and orchestrating rebirth. He was traditionally depicted as a green-skinned god sporting a pharaoh's majestic beard, partially wrapped in mummy cloth at his legs, donning a one-of-a-kind atef crown, and grasping symbolic crook and flail tools. Osiris was among the first deities to be associated with the mummy wrapping ritual, as his sister and wife Isis carefully wrapped his body after his brother Set brutally murdered him and dismembered him into pieces. Osiris is sometimes considered the eldest son of Geb, the earth god, and Nut, the sky goddess. At other times, he's viewed as a brother and husband to Isis, with Horus being regarded as his posthumously born son.
