Osiris stands out as Egypt's iconic deity of eternal life, the underworld realm, and rebirth itself. His classic depiction showcases a green-skinned figure donning a pharaoh's majestic beard, partially wrapped in mummy-like bandages on his legs, wearing an unmistakable atef crown that sets him apart, and grasping symbolic crook and flail instruments in his hands. As one of the first to be connected with the revered art of mummification, Osiris' story unfolded when his sister-wife Isis took it upon herself to wrap his body after his brother Set brutally killed him and tore him into pieces. Osiris is also considered Geb's eldest son and Nut's child from the celestial realm, not to mention being Isis' brother and spouse. Furthermore, Horus is seen as his posthumously born offspring.
