In April of 1941, Popular Science Magazine featured an article on constructing an oscillating steam engine. This replica model replicates that engine using part details from the article. I aimed to adhere to the parts in almost every aspect, with some modifications made to accommodate 3D printing. This design includes a reversing lever that redirects airflow for CW and CCW rotation. Originally conceived as a metal device for use with steam, this engine operates on compressed air instead. Please refrain from using steam; it's a very leaky design. The engine runs at approximately 1500-1600 RPM. Build Details: 1. The Assembly list specifies 8 mm screws but 6 mm should suffice in most areas, especially the cylinder heads. Item 3 calls for a 12 mm screw that can be shorter. 2. Spring dimensions are 23/64 Dia x 1 3/8 Long. 3. It's crucial to attach the lower cylinder cover (12) to the Piston before assembling the piston crank. Secure with Super Glue. 4. Assemble the Rocker Shaft (20) to the Cylinder(6) using Super Glue. 5. The mating surfaces of the Cylinder(6), Reverser Plate(19), and Frame(9) require smoothness. 6.
