Osama bin Laden's estate, commonly referred to as the Waziristan Haveli, was a luxurious mansion that served as a secure hideout for militant Islamist Osama bin Laden. US forces fatally shot him there on May 2, 2011. The compound was situated at the end of a dusty road approximately one mile southwest of Pakistan's Military Academy in Bilal Town, Abbottabad, Pakistan, a suburb predominantly inhabited by retired military officers. Bin Laden managed to evade capture for at least five years by residing in a secluded section of the house without internet or phone access, concealing himself from the public who allegedly remained unaware of his presence there.
