OS Respirator Version 1
thingiverse
A cutting-edge prototype respirator has been developed, boasting a modular design that allows for easy swap-out of filters. This innovative approach promises to extend the lifespan or simplify maintenance compared to traditional cloth masks. Disclaimer: While the OS Respirator is not intended to replace CDC-recommended N95 respirators, it is designed to provide sufficient protection when these are unavailable. Filtering: The OS Respirator's modular filter design ensures compatibility with a range of filtering materials, including 100% Cotton T-shirts, Pillowcases, Linen, Silk, and Tea Towels. These materials have been proven to be at least 50% effective in capturing virus-sized aerosols like COVID-19 and Influenza. Face Mask: A proper seal is crucial for the OS Respirator's effectiveness. Users should adjust the fit to their face, using techniques such as heat gun or hair dryer adjustments, or modifying the CAD model before printing.
