The Ortlieb Vario QL 2.1 bike bag comes with a hook attached to a strap that needs to be secured on the bike's luggage rack near the wheel hub. However, many bike racks lack a bar or similar feature where the hook can be anchored, causing the bag to vibrate heavily in curves and on loose terrain when left unsecured. This fixture bar offers a solution for this issue. It is designed to attach between two tubes of a basic luggage rack (please make sure to read the specs below). As a side effect, it increases the stability of the luggage rack. **Specs:** The model is designed for a luggage rack with tubes having a diameter of approximately 10 mm and a 40-degree angle. To ensure a snug fit and protect any coating on the rack tubes, the model allows a 1 mm gap between the tube and the printed part (in other words, using a tube diameter of 12 mm instead of 10 mm). I used an old bicycle tube for this purpose. The screw holes have a diameter of 4.5 mm; it is recommended to use flat head M4x20 screws and DIN 985 M4 lock nuts. **Customizability:** For the unlikely event that your bike's luggage carrier does not match the specs above, I've included a highly customizable FreeCAD file. You can adjust many settings in the spreadsheet named v; most other features will automatically update if you modify the right sketches. If you're unsure about anything, feel free to leave a comment and I'll be happy to help.
