Ornithopter (inspired by Leonardo da Vinci)
grabcad
This model was inspired by a Leonardo Da Vinci sketch and mimics bird flight. The printing method used is Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) with a Prusa i3 printer, PLA filament, a 0.4mm nozzle diameter, and a layer height of 0.35mm on a 200x200mm bed. Slic3r software was used for slicing, and the print took approximately 14 hours to complete all parts. Post-processing involved no support or tools, just assembly. In total, there are 98 individual pieces to assemble, which can be done in about 20 minutes following provided instructions. Due to the numerous components, an assembly guide was uploaded for ease of use. The model should also be assembled based on the structure's order within the 3D design. For a demonstration of the working mechanism, refer to the accompanying video.
