Ormerod Trapeziodal Z Axis Mod (TR8x2)
thingiverse
This is a mod of the nut trap to accept a TR8x2 Leadscrew in the same place. Two Versions are provided - one for a 4 start nut and one for a single-start nut. \nYou can either print an adapter to put TR8x2 where the current M5 Rod sits (if you have bought just rod and want to have it with a normal motor), or you can print the Z motor bracket that I have provided, which moves the Z Motor. I have provided an STL of iamburny's Z gears which have an 8mm hole and no nut trap. This means you should epoxy in the threaded rod at a depth of your choosing. \nFor the Motor to move, It would conflict with the Z foot. A modified Z foot is provided. \nThe goals of these Ormerod designs were to make the Ormerod quieter, and more robust to abuse, as it travels a lot.
