Ormerod sized filament spool
thingiverse
The Ormerod deserves a filament spool, identical in size to its own packaged units. Inspired by motion picture reels and audio tape rolls, we aim to showcase the amount of remaining filament while printing. A simple two-piece spool should satisfy any bridging needs. To assemble these parts on your Ormerod 3D printer: Firstly, print both pieces without any complications with crossing perimeters. Upon completion, gently deburr them and use a file to smoothen rough areas. Next, merge the components together by either applying glue or securing M3 bolts and nuts with countersinks. A mix of these methods is also an option for a secure hold. Important: For best results when printing with this design, consider avoiding the "Avoid Crossing Perimeters" feature in Slic3r software during post-processing. My prints haven't yet adapted to using this function, but they finish successfully otherwise.
