Ormerod E3D Adapter MKIII
thingiverse
This is an adapter system for attaching hotends from the company e3d-online.com to the X-carriage of the RepRapPro Ormerod. I recommend using the current version of the X-carriage. Three basic mounting options with different characteristics are available: base_a, base_b, and base_c. base_a allows only for the attachment of the hotend. Note that this variant requires the use of "clamp_a". base_b enables not only the attachment of the hotend but also the attachment of the cables leading to the hotend, as well as a cooling air supply. base_c offers an additional option to define and fix the bowden tube leading to the hotend. The following materials are used in addition to those required for the adapter: For attaching the hotend: 2 cylinder head screws M3x25 to M3x30 (max!) For attaching the cooling cable: 1 cylinder head screw M3x8 to M3x10 For securing the bowden clip: 1 cylinder head screw M3x10 to M3x12 3 to 4 nuts M3 (depending on usage) 3 to 5 small cable ties (depending on usage) In addition, 2 screws are required to secure the holder to the X-carriage. The original parts may be reused. The photos show an earlier version, but the main features remain the same. The optimizations mainly affect the attachment components. The OpenSCAD file is extensively commented and allows for easy adaptation of the models to personal needs. Update 16.01.2016 20:30 Bug fix for the files: E3D_Ormerod_Adapter_MKIII E3D_Ormerod_Adapter_MKIII_base_a E3D_Ormerod_Adapter_MKIII_base_b E3D_Ormerod_Adapter_MKIII_base_b_c A mistake was introduced when "polishing" the files before uploading.
