The Ormaiztegi Bridge was built in 1863 according to a project by engineer Alexander Lavalley. It stretches almost 300 meters long and boasts a maximum height of over 30 meters tall. Its framework is comprised of a steel core reinforced by a box-like structure formed by three beams, each approximately 5.60 meters high. In the year 1940, its steel infrastructure was further supported with additional concrete pillars dispersed among the masonry base. Once part of the Madrid-Paris railway route, this viaduct remained in service until the rail traffic diverted to a newer bridge built nearby in the year 1995.
