Ork Squig Shoota

Ork Squig Shoota

My son was blown away by the Rukkatrukk Squigbuggy when he saw it in White Dwarf last month - he thought it was the ultimate toy ever created. I considered buying one for us to build together, but it's quite pricey and looks smaller in photos than I'd like. So, I decided to create a standing figure with my own spin on the squig shoota, making it 110mm tall, which is big enough to take on any action figure in our house. The ork himself is based on the ranged boy from Space Marine: a brilliant model that's hard to resist. The squig in his hand is a modified version of this one with the legs cut off: a fun little accessory that adds some character to the overall design. The squig in the barrel is just the head from Andreas' Gulpy monster, adding a bit of humor to an otherwise deadly-looking shoota. I designed both the shoota and gas tanks from primitives in Blender, giving them a rugged, industrial look that fits perfectly with the ork aesthetic.
