Orion EQ-1 equatorial DSLR adapter
thingiverse
UPDATE: I snapped a 90-second exposure at a dark sky site using this adapter and achieved incredible results. The attached image showcases its capabilities. VER 2 has introduced lowered holes for top-facing bolts, catering to those with large lenses. This adapter plate seamlessly connects an Orion EQ-1 equatorial tripod with a DSLR camera, providing exceptional stability. I've successfully taken 4-minute exposures with it, leveraging the optional EQ drive accessory. To ensure optimal performance, print on the hot side (210 for PLA worked perfectly) and opt for high infill (40% here) for added strength. The bottom of the plate features a circular recess for secure tightening to your camera using a socket. Two additional holes align with the EQ-1 component, and standard hardware store bolts securely latch it down. For maximum astro photography performance, I recommend printing with 4 outer perimeter layers instead of the usual 2, creating a solid foundation for crystal-clear images.
