The blocks aren't absolutely necessary, but I wanted something that would help lock the rings in place. You may need to adjust the size slightly. I had it so it is a tight fit for both the rings and the dovetail. I printed it with the vee down and used support. It did not print well and I ended up cleaning up the support with a file. If I was going to redo it, I'd get rid of the vee on the block and make it flat, but still have it sit in the vee channel on the dovetail. I printed this in PETG, 0.15mm layer height, 100% infil.
