NASA's Orion spacecraft is designed to propel humans further than they have ever gone before. As the primary exploration vehicle, it will transport the crew into space while providing a secure emergency abort capability, ensuring their survival during the long and arduous journey through space. Furthermore, Orion will be responsible for sustaining its crew members throughout the entire travel period. Upon reaching deep space return velocities, the spacecraft will provide a safe re-entry process back to Earth. Scheduled to launch atop NASA's newly developed heavy-lift rocket, the Space Launch System.
