Orignal iPad Wall Mount
thingiverse
I use my original iPad for Shortwave listening and wanted to get it off the table top. The two size brackets are due mainly to forgetting about the volume control which I don't use in my application - I designed the lower bracket first. The larger bracket is actually the lower one, designed to support the weight. It sounds like a good cover. The smaller bracket is the top and has a slide for the mounting screw. You should tighten the top mounting screw where the top bracket will move with force to hold the iPad in place. I flanged the mounting screw holes so that you can use #10 flat head screws, although #8 dome head screws will also work fine. The rear mounting is .125" thick, allowing for easy routing of the power/charger cord between the brackets if needed - just check out the picture. I've added 4) 3/8" recesses on each bracket for self-adhesive felt pads to hold the iPad better in place. I printed the brackets with PLA using .2 mm layer height and at 10% fill. You could also simply print two of the upper brackets for the mount - they are heavy-duty enough and save some material.
