I've frequently observed designs of tiny hooks or clips intended to secure filament onto a spool. Deciding to give it a go myself for my Prusa i3 MK3 printer, I came up with my own design. It effectively accommodates any 1.75mm filament, possibly requiring some sanding but mine worked seamlessly from the get-go and fits snugly on the metal frame.
