Original Josef Prusa coaster (v2)
pinshape
So one bright day when I'll be the proud owner of a genuine Josef Prusa 3D printer, I'll be a happy man. But for now, this version 2 of an Original Josef Prusa coaster will work just fine for me. I'll use it in my house to set down my favorite drink. Coffee that is, with a lot of milk, made the old-fashioned way. You can also use this coaster to set down your favorite drink. Remember, you can scale it up or down and use your favorite color filament as well as your preferred slicing settings. I'm sure you'll have no problem printing this model because it has no overhangs and therefore doesn't need support material. But when does a drink coaster ever need any support? This is a standard-sized coaster, 100 by 100 by 5 millimeters, designed to fit perfectly in my coaster holder: thingiverse.com/thing:3130397. I printed this 3D model using white Ultimaker PLA and achieved a resolution of 0.15 millimeters with normal settings in Cura. My infill rate is 18 percent, and I printed the object with a 0.4-millimeter nozzle at 210 degrees Celsius using a heated bed. I didn't need any support material because there are no overhangs. I did use a skirt to ensure a good first layer, but if your machine primes automatically before each print, you're good to go. Design Process I picked a logo from my browser and converted it into SVG format in Inkscape. Then I opened the SVG file in Blender and turned it into a 3D object. Next, I took the file to Meshmixer where I repaired any issues and removed some unwanted parts. After that, I added a coaster to the picture and merged them together after scaling up the image. Finally, I saved it as an STL file and sliced it for printing using Make Printable, which is an app I discovered recently on Thingiverse. This time, it worked flawlessly, allowing me to slice the model without any problems. Greet Raimon Elctrncs
