This is a scan of an origami dinosaur, the signature original fold of young origami artist Riordan Tyson. He shares: "As a child, I was always folding paper into unique shapes, from my dad's old train tickets to envelopes, any scrap paper I could find. At age 8, during a local youth club activity, I discovered that this hobby was actually a traditional Japanese art-form called Origami. Soon after, while shopping with my mother, I spotted an Origami book and convinced her to buy it for me, launching my journey as a lifelong origami artist. Many teachers at school dismissed it, since I had a habit of making origami during lessons, but my Spanish teacher Mr. Metz actively encouraged me. He suggested finding alternative materials for my sculptures, as paper deteriorates over time. After almost 20 years of practicing the art, I'm now using 3D printing technology to explore and expand Origami's endless possibilities." Scanned with Artec Space Spider during a workshop.
