Origami Crane
thingiverse
To express good wishes for peace and prosperity in the new year, I created a 3D-printable origami crane design using TinkerCAD. The crane is made up of five separate parts: body, wings, head, tail, and a connector. By altering the wing size, I plan to produce various sized cranes that form a family. While printing, care should be taken when positioning supports and platform placement to prevent overhangs and rough textures. The delicate head is designed with support similar to a skyscraper, with the head at the top. Printed in ABS at .2 layer height with 10% fill, each part offers an intricate design that brings traditional origami art into the digital age.
