Modern Albania conceals numerous forgotten archaeological treasures, one of them being the ancient city of Oricum, where a pivotal and mysterious event in Julius Caesar's ascent to absolute power took place. The communist era that isolated the country for most of the 20th century safeguarded this captivating site until today, as archaeologists have only recently initiated their research. Below is a 3D model of the impressive fountain that was originally believed to be a theater. This groundbreaking discovery was made in 2013, when footprints were found in the middle of what was thought to be a "theater". This enigmatic building remains shrouded in mystery, as archaeologists are still searching for answers on where the water supply originated from. Located on the city of Oricum is no natural source of water, as the city sits atop a rocky terrain. Therefore, it's likely that rainwater was channeled to a large well, possibly this fountain itself.
