Modern Albania conceals numerous forgotten archaeological treasures, with one of them being the ancient city of Oricum, where a pivotal and mysterious event in Julius Caesar's rise to absolute power unfolded. The communist era effectively insulated the country for most of the 20th century, safeguarding this captivating site until today, as archaeologists have only recently begun their research. In 2012, archeologists from the University of Geneva and the Albanian Institute uncovered a significant portion of the ancient city wall and a gate within that fortified barrier.
