Ori (blind forest) - character
thingiverse
My modified version of the lovely Ori character from Ori and the Blind Forest videogame, making easier to print and transform it into a "lamp". The original model belongs to Julien Kaspar, I thank him very warmly for this beautiful model that he shared with us. It was a long project, you can find more pictures of my research and tests on my page : https://www.instagram.com/itsmil_3dcreations/ My modifications : - Larger hooves, providing better adhesion to the bed. - I cleaned the inside, by removing useless polygons, hoverhangs or unecessary walls. - I planed the surfaces touching the bed, providing better adhesion, avoiding a raft and reducing supports. - I added some polygons where it was necessary. Overall, I retouched the model with the idea of printing it with no infill. The goal was to clear the path for the light as the infill would otherwise be visible trought the walls. I don't recommend to print it without supports, a noticeable defect will be visible under the top ear. However, I only added supports beyond 75° overhang. If you want to illuminate the central orb, the disk with a hole can be used with a LED. I recommend the one with a cap to dimm the light. I you want illuminate the entire model, with severals leds and with a bicolor effect like the first picture... go see my instagram page for explanations. ^^ Slicing parameters : - 2 walls, - 0.1mm layers - no infill - 75° hoverhang supports ( a raft is recommended ) The 7h20mn printing consumed 33g of white Esun Pla+ with my sidewinder X1. I added the ideamaker profile in the files.
